Carmel Cowan

Carmel Cowan

Office Manager Carmel Cowan’s responsibilities include Human Resources, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Contracts, and CEC Grant and Utility Interconnection Processing. And that’s just for Mondays!  Previously, she was employed with Apogee Information Systems as office manager, Raytheon Company as publications coordinator, and McDonnell Douglas Aerospace (now known as Boeing) as a proposal and graphics coordinator.  She is a member of the West Boylston Arts Foundation and the Arts Alliance; for the latter, she has served as president and on the board of directors. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from the State University of New York – Plattsburgh. In her spare time, she likes to read, do crossword puzzles, travel, follow her favorite baseball, football and soccer teams, and spend time with her husband and two daughters. She lives in West Boylston.

Roy Van Cleef

Roy Van Cleef, Technical Sales, came on board to help serve Solarize Harvard customers, and is staying on due to our continued growth. Roy grew up in South Africa and had his first taste of the U.S. as an exchange student at the University of Oregon from Aberdeen University in Scotland. His zoology degree from Aberdeen indirectly led to his passion for renewable energy and conservation, as his focus on wildlife and biology led to concern about the damage being inflicted on the planet by fossil fuels. After university, he was a competitive cyclist for several years. He officially moved to Massachusetts in 2004. New England Clean Energy is installing solar electric and hot water systems on his home in Harvard, where he lives with his wife and three children. When he’s not talking to customers about solar energy, running marathons or taking care of his kids, Roy can often be found rock climbing and, yes, occasionally bicycling.
