Sales

Doug McCartney, Sales Director and Commercial Sales Consultant

DougDoug has 20+ years of experience leading sales and marketing teams for new and emerging companies. After a career in software, he welcomes the switch to solar, which he calls “the next great technology”. Before joining New England Clean Energy, Doug ran his own sales and marketing consultancy, Licitus Group. He has served as Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing at Two Step Software, Vice President of Business Development at Adaytum Software, Principal at Pelorus Marketing Group, and Vice President of Marketing and International Operations at Pilot Software. He has an MBA from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colby College. Doug lives in Sudbury, MA with his wife, dog and, occasionally, his two older children. He is an avid skier and cyclist, which makes Jim and Roy happy.

Roy Van Cleef, Solar Sales Consultant

RoyRoy came on board for Solarize Harvard and stayed on due to our continued growth. Roy grew up in South Africa and had his first taste of the U.S. as an exchange student at the University of Oregon from Aberdeen University in Scotland. His zoology degree from Aberdeen indirectly led to his passion for renewable energy and conservation, as his focus on wildlife and biology led to concern about the damage being inflicted on the planet by fossil fuels. After university, he was a competitive cyclist for several years. He officially moved to Massachusetts in 2004, meeting up with New England Clean Energy when we installed solar electric and hot water systems on his home in Harvard, MA, where he lives with his wife and three children. When he’s not talking to customers about solar energy, running marathons or taking care of his kids, Roy can often be found rock climbing and, yes, occasionally bicycling.

Rick Lamothe, Solar Sales Consultant

RickRick joined New England Clean Energy in 2014. His passions for renewable energy, energy efficiency and the planet make him a perfect fit here. He could not be happier having made the transition from a national solar company to a small local one that allows him to really know, understand and help his customers. He even likes that we answer our own phones. Rick’s extensive energy background includes jobs at Energy Monster, SolarCity, Higgins Energy Alternatives, and Environmental Health & Engineering. He is certified by the Building Performance Institute as a Building Analyst, and has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He lives in Northborough, MA with his wife and dog. In his spare time, he enjoys the great outdoors through hiking, kayaking etc.

Rob DeBevoise, Solar Sales Consultant

RobRob came to the solar world in 2015 after a brief stint at a private equity firm. As an international relations major at Connecticut College, with minors in history and economics, he found himself gravitating to the environmental economics and environmental justice courses. So, joining New England Clean Energy to help get more solar into the world was more in line with his values than high finance. And, solar keeps him outside, which is his favorite place to be. “Super passionate” about the outdoors, Rob loves hiking, rock climbing, bicycling, running, swimming – anything with movement, basically. He lives in Dover, MA.

BenBen Fitzer, Solar Sales Consultant
