Solar Designer Intern

About This Position:
The Solar Designer Intern will work with the Operations Group to help complete a sold system’s design and
other supporting documentation. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited, verifying that the
proposed solar system meets all site requirements and constraints as well as being in charge of assembling
information required to permit and build the project.

● Create and edit solar designs as assigned
● Assemble project documentation; such as a statement of work, project change orders, the material
procurement order(s), electrical one-lines, etc.
● Review all project details for accuracy and consistency
● Complete customer / system site visits as needed
● Deliver project details to the Project Lead to so that the project can move to the permitting phase

● General understanding of building systems and trade terminology
● Ability to read (or learn how to read) construction documents
● Must be comfortable working on a roof
● Resourceful self-starter, problem solver who is organized and detail oriented
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Demonstrated ability to learn new things and understand new concepts
● Ability to work without direct supervision
● Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as
Google Apps for Work (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.)
● Solar experience is a plus

• $16 / Hour for 20 hours per week
