Some people close up their skylights to make room for solar, but that wasn’t necessary in this case. We had plenty of roof space to work with, to accommodate these 18 SunPower panels. The panels are black-on-black, meaning no white backsheet, so they blend into the roof seamlessly.

We prefer sunny blue sky as the backdrop for photos of the systems we’ve installed, but there’s something kind of peaceful about this hazy white sky. It certainly offsets the 30-panels of this solar energy system nicely as they frame the dormer on this Concord, MA roof.

We all know what big polluters automobiles are. This homeowner’s clean energy system is reducing fossil-fuel emissions equivalent to taking almost 2 cars off the road. That’s substantial! We don’t want to speak for Mother Earth, but we’re pretty sure she’s saying ‘thank you’.
