Getting Paid to Go Solar

July 24, 2018

This homeowner falls into the category of “Getting Paid to Go Solar.” Before solar, his monthly electric bill averaged $132. With solar, he has a $255 monthly loan payment, but he makes enough solar to zero out his electric bill and those savings plus his “green income” mean at the end of the month, he […]

Tyngsborough Solar

July 20, 2018

This Tyngsborough, MA family installed solar and went from a $187 monthly electric bill to a $0 electric bill PLUS monthly green income of $131. Add them up and that’s a $318 improvement in their household budget, every month! What would you do with an extra $318 a month?

Scituate Solar Savings

July 17, 2018

This solar electric system with a dozen high-efficiency panels on the horse barn is producing enough clean energy to cover all of the homeowner’s electric bills. That’s roughly $1,000 a year now. When you factor in the inevitable increases in utility rates, it will be worth about $36,800 in electric bill savings over 25 years.

(In)visible Savings

April 16, 2018

Some roofs are hard to install on, and hard to photograph. In this case, we managed the installation just fine — six panels on one side, as seen in the photos, and 25 panels on the other side. The roof pitch is steep enough that panels on both sides actually works. We couldn’t get a […]

A Year of Solar

January 3, 2018

“Working with New England Clean Energy was simple and easy. They got quotes to me fast with clear breakdowns, on-boarding from contracts, payments, and step-by-step instructions was easy, and the panels were installed sooner than I expected…we’ve had an easy time (and no electric bills) in the year we’ve had our panels up.” — Comments […]

Cut Your Commodity Price

October 4, 2017

If you could buy milk for about 1/4 of the price you pay today, or toilet paper or some other staple in your household, how happy would you be? So go ahead and do that with your electricity. Solar makes it easy. This Acton, MA family reduced their electricity price from 22 cents per kWh […]

North Andover First

September 14, 2017

Our first solar energy installation in North Andover deserves better photos, but we can’t control Mother Nature and the installation day was gray! So in this case, the schematic drawing of the system gives a better idea of what it actually looks like — 39 panels spread across 2 roofs.

When 18 + 4 = 94

September 6, 2017

Eighteen solar panels are visible in this photo, on the garage of this home. In addition, four more were tucked onto the main roof of the Cape. We recommend sizing your system to cover just about 100% of your electricity use. Sometimes, homeowners will go a little bit larger than that to accommodate future electricity […]

13 Cents vs. 3 Cents

August 24, 2017

The Taunton municipal light department has decent rates for Massachusetts — about 13 cents per kWh. But wouldn’t you rather pay 3 cents? That’s what this homeowner is paying per kWh, locked in for 25 years, thanks to his solar energy system. Let’s see…pay the utility 13 cents…or pay yourself 3 cents…which would you do? […]

A Peaceful Picture

August 24, 2017

We prefer sunny blue sky as the backdrop for photos of the systems we’ve installed, but there’s something kind of peaceful about this hazy white sky. It certainly offsets the 30-panels of this solar energy system nicely as they frame the dormer on this Concord, MA roof.
