The Energy Miser

New England Clean Energy’s 10th Anniversary

In October 2006, I started a renewable energy company out of my home. Ten years, one name change, three office expansions, 37 employees, and 750 solar electric systems later, New England Clean Energy has become a leader in the regional solar industry. Our focus on Central Massachusetts has broadened to Central New England, including MetroWest and southeast Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and all of Rhode Island.

I started this company to make a difference in the world and wow, have we. We totaled up the production of all our customers and the positive impact of that clean energy, and displayed those results at the event, as these photos I posted earlier show.

Of course, in a way I am merely the messenger. Yes, people choose to go solar with Clean Energy because of our high customer satisfaction, which we work hard to achieve and maintain. But we wouldn’t be here without the commitment of our customers to make their own emissions-free, cost-effective solar electricity.

Because our customers played such a huge role in our success, I was thrilled to have so many of them take time out of their weekend to celebrate this milestone with us at our “Customer Appreciation Day” last Sunday.

Eighty customers joined Clean Energy employees at our Hudson, Mass., headquarters.

Customers viewed products including SunPower solar panels, a Mitsubishi Electric ductless mini-split heating and cooling system, and a battery storage unit. They watched demonstrations of roof evaluations and solar energy system designs, and offered video testimonials of their support for solar. And of course we all ate, drank and talked solar.

Thank you to all of our customers and partners for your contributions to New England Clean Energy’s first decade of success.
