At the time of this writing, Massachusetts offers a $1,000 tax credit to homeowners installing solar on their properties. That’s on top of the even bigger federal tax credit, which lops 30% off your solar purchase price (even if you finance with a loan). And yet those savings pale in comparison to the value of the electricity and “green income” that will be generated by the solar — $73,700 (over 25 years) and $23,000 (over 10 years) respectively, in the case of this Berlin home.

“NE Clean Energy was referred to us by a family member. Ben, our sales rep, was knowledgeable but not pushy during the proposal stage. We passed after the first meeting but Ben reached out to us a few months later to let us know several things had changed that would reduce the overall cost of our system, which we appreciated.
“Once we signed the proposal, the process moved quickly, facilitated by Tracy. She updated us with every step of the process. The installation team (Jonathan and Matt) explained everything and were open to our feedback regarding the process.
“It was 14 weeks from when we signed the proposal and paid the deposit until we were able to turn on the system.”
