Solar Through the Year

Net Metering in many states allows solar owners to benefit from their total solar production year-round. As this graph shows, this homeowner will produce less electricity than needed in the winter months, but more than needed in the summer months. During the summer, a Net Metering credit is applied to the electric bill, which is then used during the colder months. (Net Metering arrangements vary by state and sometimes town.)
